    IMMY se compone de un equipo de 15 personas de Michigan. Eran el equipo detrás del Telescopio Espacial James Webb, por lo que saben "un poco" de óptica.

     

    Su HMD es NEO (por Natural Eye Optic), un sistema que permite cambiar entre RA a RV con facilidad. Usa espejos OLED para hacer saltar la imagen a la pantalla y desde ahí reflejarla al ojo como proyección retinal directa, usando la misma idea base que en un principio iba a usar Magic Leap.

     

    Tiene 60º de FOV, que sepa, el mayor FOV que hay ahora mismo para realidad aumentada.

     

    El que la ha probado comenta que el sistema es muy ligero, su imagen no sufre distorsión y queda bien enfocada y nítida. En un mes esperan aumentar en un 40% el número de fotones para mejorar su capacidad de brillo.
    Participaron el GDC, mostrando la demo de una tortuga marina verde nadando de aquí para allá entre la multitud de asistentes. A final de año estará disponible para desarrolladores. A largo plazo tienen en mente que sea para el público general, pero de momento sólo piensan en su uso en empresas industriales.

    No entiendo porque en UploadVR dicen que tiene más FOV que Meta 2:
    While just an engineering build at this point, the test unit I tried was very light. I was impressed by how bright the colors were and the sharpness of the picture. The 60-degree field of view was also noticeably wider than both the Hololens and Meta 2, and gave a more natural visual feel to the experience.

     

    Según leo Meta 2 tiene un FOV de 90 grados.
    But in a couple of places, Meta blows the HoloLens (and any other augmented reality I’ve seen) away. The first is its 90-degree field of view — more than twice the largest estimate

     

    Será interesante ver como evoluciona a lo largo del año, recordando siempre que los gráficos son importantes pero no lo son todo en un sistema de realidad aumentada.

    Creo que se refieren a la característica de ser a la vez RA y RV, vamos, imagino. También me suena una solución que llegaba a los 100º, pero no sé si "pretendía llegar" a los 100º.
